NRLM helps Wasoora woman to earn her livelihood
Pulwama: A 30-year old woman from south Kashmir’s Pulwama district has been earning livelihood for herself and helping others also with the help of NRLM
Shazia Saba Nabi, daughter of Ghulam Nabi Bhat resident of Wasoora in Litter Tehsil of Pulwama has been associated with NRLM since 2017.
Saba said that after passing her graduation and then diploma in FMPHW, she was sitting idle at her home but then she came to know about SHG groups of NRLM.
She said that after she came to know about it, she joined it and has been working with it since then.
Saba said that she purchased land with the help of NRLM on which she has grown apple trees besides that she has purchased a cow and started a Grocery store in her locality that is run by her brother now.
Saba who is engaged in embroidery work said that she believes that SHG is highly beneficial especially for women like her.
“I encourage other women who are sitting at home and are not sure on how to start and take a step forward in establishing a business unit,” she said, adding that this scheme offers great opportunities and with determination any woman can stand on her feet and achieve success in her life.
She said that NRLM is the best option for women folk to help their families in earning their livelihood.
“There are hundreds of women in rural areas who are dependent on their family for everything but they must take benefit of the government schemes to become financially independent,” she added.
She said that by joining NRLM, she isn’t earning livelihood for her family but helping others too.
