Police arrests drug peddler in Budgam
Srinagar: Police in Budgam arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance and cash from his possession, a police spokesman said Tuesday.
He said that a police party during naka checking, intercepted a suspicious person carrying a nylon bag who on seeing the police party tried to flee from the spot but he was apprehended tactfully.
He has been identified as Rayees Ahmed Mir son of Gulzar Ahmed Mir resident of Mohanpora Narkara. During search, 02 Sticks of Charas weighing about 58 grams, 01 mobile phone and cash was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 376/2024 under relevant section of law has been registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
