Multifarious SVEEP activities organized in Shopian to promote Voter Awareness
SHOPIAN: In a series of events aimed at promoting voter awareness under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme, multifarious activities including Rallies, Speeches, discussions etc were organized at different locations in Shopian district on the directions of the District Election Officer, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar.
The major event took place at the main chowk at Hermain tehsil, where a large crowd gathered to listen to speakers emphasising the importance of voting in the upcoming elections.
The speakers highlighted the power of each vote in shaping the future, encouraging citizens to make informed choices.
Another significant event was held at the Kundalan, Shopian where locals participated with full enthusiasm and announcements were made on the significance of voting.
A similar SVEEP programme was also organized at the main chowk, Pinjora, where community members engaged in discussions on the voting process and its importance in a democratic setup.
Additionally, a well-attended rally took place at the Fruit Mandi Aglar, Shopian, where participants, including traders and fruit growers, actively joined in and the speakers urged the community to participate wholeheartedly in the democratic process.
These rallies are part of the wide SVEEP efforts to raise awareness among the public about their voting rights and responsibilities, ahead of the Assembly Elections 2024.
