Shopian: PDP’s State Secretary and contesting candidate of Watchi Constituency Ghulam Mohiudin Wani on Wednesday said that people of Zainapora Constituency don’t vote blindly and they vote in favour of party or a candidate whose manifesto is for welfare of the people.

In an interview with ‘Kashmir Vision’ the PDP leader and former PRO to Mehbooba Mufti, Ghlam Mohiudin Wani said that gun culture came into existence in Jammu and Kashmir only due to blunders committed by NC and Congress in 1987.

He said that had NC not committed this mistake of rigging the elections then there wouldn’t have been any Salahuddin as they all had come into mainstream and were contesting elections.

He said that the rigging led to the creation of militancy in J&K and whatever wrong is happening today is because of that mistake.

He said that Jamaat’s rejoining the mainstream is a very welcome step as in democracy everyone has the right to contest elections.

On being asked why will people vote for PDP, Ghulam Mohiudin Wani said that people in Shopian don’t vote blindly and they vote only after going through the manifesto and PDP has one of the best manifesto in which every sector has been touched.

On being asked whether things mentioned in Manifesto will be implemented on ground, he said that PDP has never compromised on the basic issue and government with BJP was formed on Agenda of Alliance.

He said that all the mega projects in Jammu and Kashmir especially in south Kashmir were started because of PDP and he is hopeful that people of J&K will choose PDP’s candidates for ensuring prosperity of the region.

He said that unemployment rate is at the peak in J&K and PDP is going to create more and more job opportunities for the youth here.

He requested people to vote in en-masse and defeat all those forces whose have damaged the identity of the J&K.
