Padgampora-Dangerpora road in dilapidated condition, locals seek macadamization
Awantipora: The residents of Dangerpora and Padgampora area in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district have demanded macadamization of the road connecting the twin villages, saying that the road is lying in a dilapidated condition.
The locals said that the road from Padgampora to Peer Mohalla Dangerpora has developed potholes due to which they are suffering a lot especially during wet weather conditions.
They said that the road is of vital importance as it connects the area with two primary schools, one middle school, Ziyarat Shareef, two panchayats and agriculture farm land.
Syed Rashid, a local social activist said that children and elderly people are suffering more due to the bad condition of the road.
He said that it was macadamized three years back but it didn’t last for long and authorities repaired it few months back but no mecadamisation was carried out.
“We have brought this issue into the notice of authorities several times but to no avail,” the locals said.
Every time we are being assured that it will be macadamized soon but nothing is being done on ground, they said.
They requested higher ups to look into the matter and take up the macadamization work this year so that locals won’t suffer any more.
Meanwhile, an official assured that the road was repaired earlier this year and will be macadamized soon.
He said that macadamization work has been tendered out and work is expected to begin soon.
