Seizes large cache of country-made liquor
Srinagar: Police in Anantnag successfully dismantled a major illicit liquor production unit. During a routine inspection at Brick Kiln ‘Jan Thajiwara’, owned by Tanveer Ahmad, Police seized a substantial quantity of country-made liquor and equipment used for its production, a police spokesman said Saturday.
He said that in addition to the seized liquor, Police apprehended eight individuals and recovered ₹13,600, which is believed to be proceeds from the sale of the illegal liquor.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of law and investigation is in progress to uncover further details and connections related to this illicit operation, the spokesman said.
This operation underscores the police’s unwavering commitment to enforcing the law and protecting the community from the detrimental effects of illegal liquor trade, the spokesman added.
