Illegal extraction of minerals: Police seizes 11 vehicles, arrests 11 drivers in Baramulla
Srinagar: Cracking a whip on illegal mining and transportation of minerals, police seized 11 vehicles and arrested 11 drivers in Baramulla, a police spokesman said Saturday.
He said that eleven vehicles including a tipper and 10 tractors were seized besides eleven drivers were arrested by several police parties at Chakloo, Delina Ghat, Singhpora Jheel, Nowpora, Waripora Payeen, Shrai areas of Baramulla, who were involved in illegal extraction/ transportation of minerals.
The arrested drivers have been identified as Ghlam Mohiuddin Sofi @ Mysar son of Abdul Aziz, Bilal Ahmad Sofi son of Mohammad Yousuf, Aijaz Ahmad Bhat son of Mohammad Ramzan, all residents of Chakloo, Abdul Rasheed Mir son of Ghulam Nabi resident of Darpora, Tanveer Ahmad Rather son of Mohammad Afzal resident of Kanispora, Arshid Ahmad Mir son of Ali Mohammad resident of Bangdara Reshipora, Mudasir Ahmad Ganie son of Ghulam Mohiuddin resident of Babgund, Tanveer Ahmad Tantray son of Abdul Rehman resident of Shirpora Pattan, Shafat Ahmad Allie son of Mohammad Akbar resident of Waripora Payeen, Danish Ahmad Naik son of Mehraj ud din resident of Check Ferozpora.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in Police Station Baramulla, Pattan, Tangmarg and Kreeri and investigations have been initiated, the spokesman added.
