PHE damages macadamized road while laying pipeline in Kulgam, allege locals
Kulgam: The residents of Lammer and Bonigam area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district have alleged that PHE department has damaged the macadamized road at several spots while laying pipeline.
They said that the road was macadamized last year after around a decade but the road sides were damaged when they were dug to lay pipeline.
They said that why did the PHE department delay the pipe laying and approved the process after the macadamization of the road.
They said that PHE must carry the repair work on their expenses otherwise action must be taken against them.
An official of PMGSY said that the road from Bonigam to Brinel Lammer was macadamized last year and this year it was damaged by PHE without any approval.
He said that they have taken up the issue with the district administration and necessary action in this regard will be ensured.
Meanwhile, an official of PHE said that they have sought permission for many schemes altogether at a higher level.
He said that the PHE department is bound to repair the road wherever it has got damaged.
He said that the road is for all but they don’t have any option other than to lay pipeline along the road side as people aren’t allowing them to lay pipeline through their private land.
