Nigeenpora-Panner road lies in dilapidated condition, allege locals

Pulwama: In the scenic region of Nigeenpora, the dilapidated state of Nigeenpora-Panner Tral road has sparked outrage among locals, who are demanding immediate macadamization to address the pressing issue.
The residents of the area said that the road, crucial for connectivity and transportation, has deteriorated significantly, posing a threat to both pedestrians and vehicles alike.
They said the road has been macadamized around a decade back and since then no attention has been given towards it.
Ghulam Rasool Lone, a local resident said that the condition of the road is very bad for the last several years as it hasn’t been repaired.
He said that the bad condition of the road is giving a tough time to locals and even tourists visiting Panner dam.
Showkat Ahmad, another local said that school going children and elderly people are the worst sufferers as the bad condition of the road is making commuting difficult.
He said that people have been suffering more in case of an emergency as it is very difficult to commute on the road.
The residents have voiced their concerns over the hazardous conditions, citing frequent accidents and difficulties in commuting as major issues.
With potholes and uneven surfaces plaguing the road, daily travel has become a perilous endeavor for the community, they said.
They said that despite bringing this issue into the notice of concerned authorities several times nothing has been done so far.
They urged authorities to take swift action to repair and upgrade the road infrastructure.
