Police arrests two drug peddlers in Budgam
Srinagar: Police in Budgam arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession, a police spokesman said Tuesday.
He said that a police party established a checkpoint at Kashka Mohalla Soibugh, noticed two suspicious persons carrying nylon bags. On seeing the Police party, they tried to flee from the spot but were apprehended tactfully. They have been identified as Mohammad Shafi Malik son of Khazir Malik and Zeba Bano wife of Abdul Gani Mir, both residents of Kashka Mohalla Soibugh. During search, 27.100 Kgs of Poppy Straw have been recovered from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Regarding the incident, a case vide FIR No. 187/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Budgam and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
