Kashmiri CUET students demand exam centers in Kashmir

Pulwama: Candidates from different districts of Kashmir are distressed as the National Testing Agency (NTA) has directed them to appear for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) outside Kashmir.
Candidates from different areas of Kashmir said that they have already given their two papers of CUET in Kashmir but now they have been asked to appear for the third paper in the Jammu division.
They said that visiting Jammu for financially weaker students won’t be easy and the government must reconsider the decision.
Sameer Ahmad, a student from the upper area of Tral said that students of the area belong to poor families and hardly manage their daily expenses.
He said that the students cannot even afford the travel expenses to Jammu to appear in the exam.
Yasir Ahmad, another student said that reaching Jammu in this heat wave and bearing fare and other expenses won’t be easy for the students.
He said that when the government has already managed few papers of Kashmiri students in Kashmir then why can’t they manage other papers here as well.
The students said that they have brought this issue into the notice of concerned authorities who have assured that positive steps will be taken in this regard.
They said that they are hopeful that the government will take up their issue seriously and issue orders for conducting the exams in Kashmir only.
