Branpathri Tral residents demand construction of new bridge

Pulwama: The residents of Branpathri village in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district have demanded construction of a new bridge over a canal in their area.

The residents of the area said that the bridge in the area was constructed around two decades back which has now turned old and is lying in a dilapidated condition.

They said that the bridge got damaged due to the heavy flow of water in the canal.

Shakeel Ahmad, a local resident said that the bridge connects hundreds of households with each other besides connecting a middle school.

He said that the bridge is lying in dilapidated condition and can prove fatal anytime.

Nazir Ahmad, another resident said that people of the area suffer in absence of proper connectivity.

He said that parents have to accompany their wards to take them to the school and bring them back due to the fear of the dilapidated condition of the briedge.

Locals said that they have brought this issue into the notice of concerned authorities several times but to no avail.

They have sought attention of LG Manoj Sinha and District Magistrate Pulwama in this regard.
