Police arrests drug peddler in Shopian
Srinagar: Police in Shopian arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from their possession, a police spokesman said Monday.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Safanagri, intercepted a suspicious person who tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully. During search, 20.548 Kgs of charas concealed in two nylon bags was recovered from his procession. He has been identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Dar son of Ghlam Mohammad Dar resident of Darbagh.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 29/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Zainapora and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
