Mehandi Art Competition held under SVEEP at GDC Sumbal
BANDIPORA: NSS Unit and Electoral Literacy Club GDC Sumbal in collaboration with District Election Office, Bandipora Saturday organised a Mehandi art Competition under Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign, here.
The competition was organised under the patronage of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Shabeena Iqbal Shawl.
On the occasion, Dr. Nuzhat Gull, Co-Convener NSS in her introductory remarks highlighted the theme of the programme.
In a bid to spread awareness among youngsters, especially first time voters, the principal interacted with the contestants and encouraged them.
In her message, she urged the participants to exercise their voting rights in the upcoming elections and also to voice their opinions and develop self confidence which is a core aspect of the college besides the curriculum.
A total of 27 female students showcased their artistic prowess by adorning other female students’ hands with intricate designs and empowering messages.
Participants infused their Mehndi designs with symbols representing electoral participation, civic duty, and democratic principles, signifying the importance of the event.
