Police solves burglary case in Awantipora, stolen property recovered

Srinagar: Police in Awantipora arrested two burglars and recovered stolen property from their possession, a police spokesman said Saturday.

He said that police received a written complaint from Adil Ahmad Dar resident of Gulshanpora Tral, stating therein that some unknown burglars have stolen Copper Plates worth ₹1,13,000 from his shop located at Gulshanpora Tral.

Accordingly a case, vide FIR No. 33/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Tral and investigation was initiated, the spokesman said.

Acting swiftly, a police party following corroborating and digital evidences were able to arrest two accused persons involved in the commission of crime. They have been identified as Owais Gulzar son of Gulzar Ahmad Bhat and Fayaz Ahmad Gojar son of Mohammad Ashraf Gojar, both resident of Gulshanpora Tral. On their disclosure, stolen property has also been recovered.

Locals of the area have lauded the efforts of police, the spokesman added.
