Police arrests two gamblers in Kulgam, stake money seized
Srinagar: Police in Kulgam arrested two gamblers and seized stake money from their possession, a police spokesman said Monday.
He said that acting promptly after getting specific information regarding gambling in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kulgam, a police party raided the suspected place near Adapora, Kulgam and arrested two persons on spot.
The accused persons have been identified as Javid Ahmad Wani son of Abdul Rehman Wani resident of Rangrez Pora, Kulgam and Mohammad Maqbool Ganie son of Ghulam Qadir Ganie resident of Larkipora, Kulgam, the spokesman said.
He said that officers have seized stake money of Rs 12800/- and two sets of playing cards from their possession. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
In this connection, a case vide FIR No. 19/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kulgam and investigation has been taken up, the spokesman added.
