Police arrests drug peddler in Kulgam
Srinagar: Police in south Kashmir’s Kulgam arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said Monday.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Alstop intercepted a vehicle (Wagnor Car) bearing registration number JK02AD-3680 driven by one person.
During checking, 5Kgs of Poppy Straw like substance was recovered from the said vehicle. The accused person identified as Ganesh Kumar son of Prem Nath resident of Amroo Ramnagar, Udhampur has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody. Vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized, the spokesman said.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 47/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Qazigund and investigation has been set into motion, he added.
