Police arrests notorious drug peddler in Kulgam
Srinagar: Police arrested notorious drug peddler in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said Wednesday.
He said that a police party during patrolling at Furrah near Railway bridge intercepted a suspicious person who on seeing the Police party tried to flee from the spot, however he was apprehended tactfully by the alert Police party.
The detained person was identified as Ansar Ahmad Mir son of Ghulam Nabi Mir resident of Peath Bugh Dialgam, Anantnag. During search, 05 grams of Heroin like contraband were recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody, the spokesman added.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 41/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Qazigund and investigation has been initiated, he said.
