Police arrests notorious drug peddler in Kulgam
Srinagar: Police arrested a notorious drug peddler in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said Thursday.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Alstop Chowk intercepted a vehicle (Alto Car) bearing Registration No. JK13H-0311 driven by Safeer Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Rasool Dar resident of Turka Tachloo, Anantnag.
During search, 5.2 Kgs of Poppy Straw like contraband substance filled in a nylon bag was recovered. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody. Vehicle used in the commission of crime has been seized.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 258/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Qazigund and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
