Police arrests drug peddler in Ganderbal
Srinagar: Police arrested a drug peddler in Ganderbal and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said Tuesday.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Asham-Safapora crossing intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK04A-8598, ridden by one person who tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully.
During search, officers were able to recover contraband substance (Charas) from his possession. He has been identified as Yasir Hassan Parray son of Ghulam Hassan Parray resident of Parray Mohalla Asham Bandipora. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody. Motorcycle used in the commission of crime has also been seized, the spokesman said.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 38/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Safapora & investigation has been taken up, he added.
