Police seizes eight vehicles, arrests as many persons in Budgam

Srinagar: Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police seized eight vehicles and arrested eight persons in Budgam, a police spokesman said Thursday.
He said that police during naka/patrolling at Humhama near Salsabeel School Humhama seized 08 tippers bearing registration numbers JK19-0858, JK03B-3620, JKO1K-2374, JK17-2118, JK02AC-7822, JK04C-1580, JK03B-0714 and JK01N-8098, involved in illegal transportation of minerals.
The drivers of these vehicles identified as Aashiq Hussain Rather resident of Sofipora Budgam, Javaid Hussain Mir resident of Paller Budgam, Irshad Hussain Mir resident of Paller Budgam, Ishfaq Ahmad Paul resident of Sheikhpora Budgam, Abdul Rahman Bhat resident of Sheikhpora Budgam, Irfan Ahmed Beigh resident of Kadipora Budgam, Aaqib Hussain Mir resident of Paller Budgam and Mohd Iqbal Teli resident of Palibagh Budgam were also arrested on the spot.
Accordingly, case vide FIR No. 274/2023 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation taken up, the spokesman added.
