Internet gag will impact economy, students, says Tarigami

While sharply reacting to internet shutdown in valley, senior CPI (M) leader and MLA Kulgam Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami on Thursday said that the move is seriously going to affect the economy of the state and careers of youth.

“Banning internet in an era when most of the economy and careers of youth depend on such means of communication reveals the sheer frustration of the government,” Tarigami said. This, not only will inflicted huge losses on business community, but will also affect the career of student’s.

He said the ban on internet has caused much inconvenience to common people. “People whose livelihood is associated with the smooth functioning of internet are suffering most,” he said.

While warning the establishment, that such moves will only prove counterproductive, he urged government to lift ban on internet services in the valley forthwith.
