State Taxes Dept organises ‘Street Play’ on ‘Responsible Taxation & Sustainable Development’
SRINAGAR: As part of celebrations of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mohatsav’ under the theme ‘Mere Maati, Mera Desh’, State Taxes Department Kashmir as part of its programme w.e.f. 1st August to 15th August, 2023 Wednesday organized a thought-provoking street play/skit at Poloview Market Srinagar.
The street play was organized under the guidance of Commissioner State Taxes/Administrative Secretary Mining Department, Dr. Rashmi Singh and focused on the theme of ‘Responsible Taxation and Sustainable Development’. The primary message of the skit was to shed light on the critical issue of tax evasion and detrimental effects of haphazard mining on the environment.
Interacting with the media on the occasion, Dr. Rashmi Singh, said that the State Taxes Department J&K remains committed to ensuring tax compliance, sustainable mining and safeguarding the environment for the present and future generations.
Events like these contribute to a greater understanding of the complex interplay between taxation, mining, and environmental sustainability, she added.
The Additional Commissioner State Taxes Kashmir, Shakeel Maqbool said that the street play/skit was primarily meant to create awareness among the public about the importance of tax compliance in supporting sustainable mining practices and environmental protection.
