DGP sanctions Welfare Loan, Scholarships
Srinagar: In continuation to Police Headquarters’ series of welfare measures for J&K Police personnel, the Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned over Rupees 1.06 crore welfare loans in favour of 90 police personnel to meet their immediate financial needs, a police spokesman said Wednesday.
The amount has been sanctioned out of Central Police welfare Fund vide PHQ’s order No.2041 of 2023. He has also sanctioned meritorious scholarship/ special reward of Rs. 4.12 lakh in favour of 74 wards of serving police personnel.
Under PHQ’s order welfare loan of Rupees one lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of 58 police personnel while as rupees 1.50 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of 27 police personnel to meet the expenses of their own marriage, or marriage of their sons/daughters. Four police personnel have been provided welfare loan of rupees 1.5 lakh each for higher/professional education of their wards. Rupees 50 thousand has been sanctioned in favour of one police official for circumcision of his ward, the spokesman added.
The welfare loan sanctioned to the Police personnel is refundable and is recovered in monthly installments from their salaries without any interest. However, the welfare relief provided is non-refundable.
Meanwhile, the DGP has also sanctioned meritorious scholarship/ special reward of Rs 4.12 lakh for 74 wards of serving police personnel.
The DGP has sanctioned rupees 3.12 lakh in favour of 64 wards of serving police personnel who have secured 80% and above marks in the Annual examination of Class 10th during the academic session 2022-23. The amount has been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund.
Rupees 6000/- each has been sanctioned in favour of 28 students who have secured more than 90% marks while 36 students who have secured 80% and above marks has been given rupees 4000/- each .
Special reward of Rs 10000 each in favour of 10 wards of serving police personnel has been sanctioned for qualifying different Competitive Examinations during the year 2022-23, he added.
