Police arrests notorious drug smuggler in Baramulla
Srinagar: Police arrested a notorious drug smuggler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said Tuesday.
He said that a police party arrested the most wanted and notorious drug smuggler at a checkpoint established at Uri. During search, officers were able to recover 276 grams of Charas like contraband substance and cash of Rs 10000/- (believed to be proceeds of narcotic crime) from his possession. He has been identified as Mohammad Sharief son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Hathlanga Uri. He has been shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Uri and further investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
