Take comprehensive stock of the working of courts
SRINAGAR: Justice Atul Sreedharan, Judge High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh and Administrative Judge for District Srinagar accompanied by Justice Javed Iqbal Wani, Judge High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh today visited District Court Complex, Mominabad, Srinagar.
During the visit, Justice Sreedharan took comprehensive stock of the working of courts information, engaged with judicial officers and some members of the Bar, and also undertook an inspiring initiative of planting saplings within the court premises.
Earlier, Justice Atul Sreedharan and Justice Javed Iqbal Wani were warmly recieved by Jawad Ahmad, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Srinagar; Jeema Bashir, Presiding Officer (MACT) Srinagar and S.C Katal (Spl. Judge Anticorruption, CBI Cases) Srinagar.
On the occasion, Justice Atul Sreedharan was accorded ceremonial gaurd of honour by a contingent of J&K Police.
During the visit, the Administrative Judge emphasised upon making efforts to reduce pendency of cases and stressed upon adoption of best practices for effective case management.
Justice Sreedharan during an insightful interaction with Judicial Officers of District Srinagar stressed for identifying areas for improvement and to facilitate overall functioning of Justice Delivery System.
Jawad Ahmed (Principal District & Sessions Judge) Srinagar made a detailed presentation about the working of court and developmental projects.
Justice Sreedharan stressed upon adopting the procedure of recording statement of witnesses during trial in Urdu as well as in English for smooth and effective disposal of cases. Lordship also emphasised that a collaborative approach will further strengthen the judicial system and the challenges faced by the officers are addressed by innovative solutions.
In addition to engaging with the judicial officers, Justice Sreedharan, and Justice Javed also held interaction with some members of the Bar. The interaction was aimed at to nurture the legal community, where lawyers are encouraged to share their expertise, contribute to legal discourse and provide valuable suggestions for the betterment of the legal framework.
In a noteworthy initiative, the judges also planted saplings of Deodar Trees within the court premises. This act of environmental stewardship of Lordships underscores their commitment to sustainability and a greener future.
By integrating green initiatives into the court environment, the aim is to inspire others and create awareness about the importance of preserving our environment.
