Katoo Bijbehara residents demand macadamisation of road

Anantnag: A vital road from Bijbehara to Sangam-Sirhama road via Katoo in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district is lying in dilapidated condition, locals alleged Tuesday.
The locals from the area said that road was macadamised years back and is now full of potholes and requires immediate attention of authorities.
They said that it developed cracks at several spots and the road is currently lying in dilapidated condition at most of the places.
Musaib Ahmad, a local resident said that this road has vital importance and is connecting several villages with tehsil headquarter and part of road was macadamised some years back but no repairs were carried out since then.
He said that the width of the road is very narrow at several places and there is need of widening of the road as well.
The locals said that the road is very important and government must give attention towards it for the relief of the locals.
They said that part of road was macadamised few years back but it is also lying in dilapidated condition while rest part is already in bad condition and without drainage facilities.
They said the issue was brought into the notice of concerned authorities several times but nothing was being done on ground.
The locals have now sought the attention of LG Manoj Sinha, DC Anantnag and other officials in this regard.
