Vital Bandzoo-Jandwal road lying in dilapidated condition

Locals demand repairs, macadamisation

Pulwama: The vital Bandzoo-Jandwal road in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district is lying in dilapidated condition, locals alleged saying that the bad condition of the road is giving them a tough time.

Locals from the area said that the road was macadamised long back and after the pessage of many years the road is now full of potholes and requires immediate attention repairs.

They said that it developed cracks at several spots and the road is currently lying in a bad shape at most of the places.

Aarif Ahmad, a local resident said that the road has vital importance and is connecting dozens of villages with district headquarter.

He said that the width of the road is very narrow at several places and there is need for widening of the road as well.

Locals said that this road is very important and government must give attention towards it for the relief of locals.

They said this issue was brought into the notice of concerned authorities several times but nothing is being done on ground.

The locals have sought attention of LG Manoj Sinha, DC Pulwama and other officials in this regard.

Meanwhile, an official said that the road has been sanctioned under NABARD and work on the road has been started.

He said that road will be completed within a period of three years.
