Police arrests drug peddler in Budgam
Srinagar: Police arrested a drug peddler in Budgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said Friday.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Yarikhah near Kralpathri crossing intercepted a suspicious person who tried to flee from the spot after noticing the police party but was apprehended tactfully. During search, 50 grams of Charas like substance and 1.8 Kgs of Bhang Patri was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Ghulam Hassan Sheikh @ Hassan Lali son of Abdul Gani Sheikh resident of Yarikhah Khansahib. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 70/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Khansahib and investigation has been taken up, the spokesman added.
