Police arrests drug peddler in Awantipora
Srinagar: Police arrested a drug peddler in Awantipora in south Kashmir and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said Saturday.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Kawani Crossing intercepted a suspicious person. During search, 150 grams of charas powder like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Muzaffar Ahmad Dar son of Ghlam Mohammad Dar resident of Ladermud. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 119/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Awantipora and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
