Police arrests three gamblers in Handwara
Srinagar: Acting tough against social crimes, police arrested three gamblers in Handwara and seized stake money from their possession, a police spokesman said Thursday.
He said that a police party while on a patrol dty near Gund Chogul apprehended three gamblers. They have been identified as Javid Ahmad Khan son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Galoora, Ghlam Nabi Malik son of Gh Mohidin and Mudasir Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Subhan, both residents of Gund Chogul. Police have seized stake money of ₹4810/- and playing cards from the gamblers. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 120/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Handwara and investigation has been taken up, the spokesman added.
