Police seizes illicit timber in Baramulla, accused arrested
Srinagar: Police have seized illicit timber in Baramulla and arrested an accused person involved in the crime, a police spokesman said.
He said that a police party arrested a timber smuggler namely Mohammad Shafi Dar son of Abdl Razak Dar resident of Lachipora-A Bijhama, involved in cutting down illicit forest timber and selling at higher rates. On his disclosure, 10 Illicit wooden planks of forest timber were recovered in Bijhama. He was shifted to PS where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Bijhama and investigation has been initiated, he added.
