Internal roads in Marhama Anantnag lying in bad shape, say locals
Anantnag: The residents of Marhama village in Bijbehara hamlet of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district have demanded repairing and macadamisation of internal roads of the area.
The residents of the area said that the roads in the area are lying in dilapidated condition while no attention is being given diverted to carry out repair works.
Nadeem Ahmad, a local resident said that all internal roads in the village are lying in dilapidated condition as they were macadamised years back due to which the residents of the area are facing huge inconvenience.
He said that these internal roads haven’t been macadamised for around a decade now.
Suhail Ahmad, another local said that the internal roads in the village are in bad condition as they haven’t been macadamised for long now besides that roads are very narrow and government must take steps to repair and widen the roads.
Despite being the largest village of the district, it has been neglected as internal roads need immediate repairing and macadamisation, he added.
The local residents alleged that despite visiting offices of the concerned officials several times nothing has been done in this regard.
“We have visited offices of executive engineer R&B, AEE and other officials. We are only being assured that roads will be repaired soon,” they said.
Since last two years their assurances have proved hoax on ground, they added.
The local residents have sought attention of Deputy Commissioner Anantnag in this regard.
