Seminar, Rally on Women Empowerment organised at Anantnag
ANANTNAG: On the 250th Birth Anniversary of Raja Ram Mohan Roy, a rally and a seminar on women empowerment was organised Tuesday by Raja Ram Mohan Roy Library Foundation (RRLF) in collaboration with District Library Anantnag & Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Lal Chowk Anantnag.
The rally was flagged-off by CEO Anantnag in presence of Librarian, District Library Anantnag and Principal of the GGHSS from the lawns of the School and after moving from main town Anantnag, the rally culminated at District library Anantnag.
Speaking during the Seminar, Chief Guest of the function, CEO Anantnag, Kamal Kishore said that women have an important role in building a strong society and they need to be empowered so that we have a better society to live in. He also discussed the contribution of Raja Ram Mohan Roy for the empowerment of women folk.
Guest of honour, Librarian, district library Anantnag, Mehmooda Banu, while speaking about the women empowerment said that nowadays women are found working neck to neck with men in every field, which has become possible only because of the efforts of Raja Ram Mohan Roy and other social reformers, adding that women should not be discriminated but should be provided equal opportunities in all fields of life.
She also asked the students of the host institute to take benefit from the district library Anantnag as it is equipped with the modern facilities.
Principal GGHSS Anantnag, while speaking on the occasion discussed the contributions of women folk in building the society and advocated for equal opportunities for women in every field of life.
Students of the GGHSS including Sehreen Fayaz, Iqra Jan, Nawsheeba Akhter, Aksa Jan, Seerat Jan and Rakshanda Jan also spoke on the occasion.
