Amid heavy Snowfall all major roads open in Kupwara
KUPWARA: All the major roads of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district remained open for traffic on Monday.
These roads include Kupwara-Sopore road, Handwara-Baramulla, Kupwara-Sogam, Kupwara-Kralpora-Chowkibal and other roads.
According to Executive Engineer Mechanical, all priority-I roads have been cleared twice during the day.
Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray on Monday inspected various Government offices, health institutions and other establishments to personally monitor the snow clearance operation and other facilities.
During the visit, the DC inspected the Snow clearance operation at Bohipora-Gushi-Vilgam road. He also had a surprise check of NTPHC Gushi and Nayabat Office Gushi, AYUSH Health & Wellness Centre Gushi.
During the inspection, the DC checked the attendance of staff and interacted with the public during the visit and heard them patiently, and redressed their grievances.
The DC directed officers and field functionaries to play a proactive role in facilitating the public during the ongoing Snow season.
He said despite heavy Snowfall in the areas of Kupwara district, Snow clearance operation remained uninterrupted during the day and all major roads were opened open for traffic.
Meanwhile, Snow clearance operation is also on in Karnah sub division.
