Pulwama: The residents of Barpora village in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday complained of scarcity of potable water for the past many weeks.
The residents said the water supply lines in the area remain dry most of the time, leaving them in a state of despair.
“We were without drinking water for the past many weeks,” a local resident said.
They said the water supply was restored partially but the residents face shortage of water often in the area.
A member of the local Auqaaf committee said the residents are forced to fetch drinking water from other areas, which is difficult during cold days.
“Despite repeated pleas and protests, the authorities do not take any concrete step to provide continuous water supply to our area,” they said.
