DGP sanctions Rs 78 lakh retirement gift for 79 police personnel

Srinagar: The Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned a retirement gift of Rs 78 lakh in favour of 79 Police personnel of J&K Police, a police spokesperson said on Friday.
The spokesperson said the police personnel retired from services on Friday after attaining superannuation or voluntary retirement from services.
“Sanction has been issued in favour of four gazetted officers, fifty one non gazette, twenty lower subordinates and five followers,” the police spokesman said, adding that the personnel belong to different units and wings of the department.
“Retirement gift of Rs one lakh each is sanctioned to police personnel from the Contributory Police Welfare Fund at the time of his or her retirement,” he said.
The gift serves as a token of appreciation for his or her services rendered to the department, the police spokesman said.
