Police arrests 7 persons over illegal extraction, transportation of minerals
Srinagar: Police have arrested seven persons and seized seven vehicles in Awantipora over illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, a police spokesman said on Thursday.
He said the Police parties of PS Pampore and PS Khrew seized seven vehicles involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in respective jurisdictions.
“The drivers of these vehicles were also arrested,” the spokesman said.
He said the cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations and investigations have been initiated as well.
“Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt with as per law,” the police spokesman said.
