DEO Kupwara visits various polling stations

Directs for cent percent registration of leftover, first time voters

KUPWARA: District Election Officer (DEO) Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray Saturday visited various polling stations of the district to take stock of the ongoing voter registration process under Special Summary Revision.
During the visit, the DEO inspected Polling Stations Bohipora and Batergam and interacted with the concerned BLOs who provided latest feedback about the ongoing voter registration under their jurisdictions.
Speaking at the occasion, the DEO said that Special Summary Revision has already started from 15th September in the district for addition of all leftover and first time voters. He said that BLO wise targets have been fixed to ensure cent percent registration of the target population of the voters in the district.
The DEO stressed upon the BLOs to speed up the process of registration and ensure targets given to them are achieved within the stipulated time frame.
Earlier, Dy. DEO informed that a total of 596 polling booths have been established in the district to facilitate smooth registration of the voters in the district.
Dy. District Election Officer Mehraj-u-din Wani and Election Staff accompanied the DEO.
