Police arrests two drug peddlers
Srinagar: Police in Handwara have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesman said on Saturday.
He said a Police party of Police Station Vilgam arrested two drug peddlers at a checkpoint established at Sonmulla Crossing.
The arrested person has been identified as Shabir Ahmad Lone son of Mohammad Akbar resident of Budnambal Chowkibal and Shakeel Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Rashid resident of Zunreshi Chowkibal.
“During the search, officers recovered 10 grams of Brown Sugar from their possession,” the spokesman said, adding that the arrested persons have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
“A case under FIR No. 102/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Vilgam and investigation has been initiated,” he said.
