AACL’s ‘Writers Camp’ continues at Yousmarg
Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages (AACL) has organised a five-day writers camp at Yusmarg in Budgam district.
The writers of Urdu, Kashmiri, Pahari, Gojri, Sheena, and Punjabi are participating in the camp.
The first session on the second day at the camp was presided over by Dr Shafaq Sopori, a renowned Urdu writer;.
In his presidential address, he presented his expert views on the present literary scenario and thanked the AACL for organising such programmes.
The second session of the day was dedicated to the Kashmiri language. Eminent Kashmiri writers Rahim Rehbar and Dr Sahil Abbas represented the Kashmiri language. Rahim Rehbar presented a Kashmiri short story to his fellow participant writers and Dr Sahil Abbas read a research paper on young Kashmiri poets.
All the participant writers offered their views on these presentations.
In the third session of the camp, writers of the Sheena language Masood Samon and Sheikh Mushtaq presented their creative writings.
This session was presided by noted Gojri writer Abdul Gani Arif.
“AACL’s efforts in providing an opportunity for the writers to keep up with the current trends in and across various languages is being appreciated by the writers community of the region,” the handout reads.
