Pulwama residents demand completion of Koil-Narwah road

Pulwama: The residents of Koil, Narwah and its adjacent areas in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday appealed authorities to complete Koil-Narwah road.
The residents of the area said that work on Koil-Narwah road was started last year, however, work was left half way leaving residents high and dry.
They said the road is being constructed at a cost of around Rs 2 crore.
“However, last year only JSB was laid on it and since last nine months no work has been carried out on it,” the locals said.
“Last year when JSB was laid on the road, they were told by the authorities that there is need of Retaining walls at some spots which will be constructed after which more material will be laid on the road following which it will macadamised,” Ghulam Mohammad Wani, a local resident said.
We contacted contractor several times but nothing has happened on ground, said Shakeel Ahmad a local.
Locals urged the higher ups especially Deputy Commissioner Pulwama to look into the matter at an earliest so that they can heave a sigh of relief.
Meanwhile Executive Engineer R&B Pulwama Er Nisar Ahmad said that the matter will be looked into.
“Very soon road will be completed,” he said.
