Distt admin Kupwara issues 1415 UDID cards, disability certificates

Kupwara: The health department Kupwara on Thursday organized special camps in various areas of Kupwara district including border and far flung areas of Karnah, Keran and Machill.
The camps were organised on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir.
According to Chief Medical Officer Kupwara, as many as 1415 Disability Certificates have been issued in favour of eligible beneficiaries from June 1 to July 5 this year.
As per data, 612 Unique Disability Identity card, also known as UDID card and Disability Certificates have been issued at Karnah, 80 at Keran, 106 at Machill, 178 at Zachaldara, 145 at Kralgund Langate, 146 at Vilgam and 148 at Kupwara headquarter. The certificates were issued under the supervision of concerned BMOs.
Deputy Commissioner has appreciated the efforts of CMO and its field team for making best efforts to facilitate the specially abled persons with required certificates to enable them to get financial assistance under various social welfare schemes.
He said District Administration is committed to provide every possible support to them (specially abled persons), adding that these persons are part of our society and it is the prime and moral duty of every stakeholder to support them. He said various other schemes are also available for specially abled persons with the Social Welfare department including Motorized Tricycles.
