Khosipora Anantnag residents demand restoration of water supply
Anantnag: The residents of Ara Khosipora in Dialgam area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday demanded restoration water supply pipeline in the area.
The residents said the area was without drinking water for the last one week, leaving them in a state of despair.
“Since last one week we did not receive a single drop of water which has caused huge inconvenience to the people,” a local resident said.
The residents said their supply was disconnected from last one week and their females have to cover long distances to fetch water.
The concerned department is well aware about the issue, however, they aren’t taking steps to restore supply due to reasons known to them,” said Manzoor Ahmad a local resident.
Locals said that they approached concerned authorities but nothing was done on ground.
“It seems our repeated pleas have gone to deaf ears,” the locals said.
They requested concerned authorities to look into the matter at an earliest and restore supply in the area.
Assistant Executive Engineer PHE Mohammad Rafiq said that the supply line was damaged due to recent flash floods and efforts were on to restore it.
“We have already restored maximum parts and working to restore pending area,” he said.
