Budgam Police arrests drug peddler
Budgam: The J&K Police in Budgam have arrested a drug peddler and recovered psychotropic substance from his possession.
As per the police handout, a Police party from Police Station Chadoora at a checking point established near Government higher secondary school Panzan intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK04F-0682.
“On checking, 66 bottles of Chlorpheniramine Maleate & Codeine Phosphate based syrup (Controlled drug) was recovered from the vehicle,” the handout reads.
The vehicle used in the commission of crime has been seized and the drug peddler identified as Firdous Ahmad Wani son of Ghulam Ahmad Wani resident of Chadoora was arrested, it reads.
Accordingly, a case FIR number 117/2022 under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Chadoora & investigation has been taken up.
“Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law,” handout reads.
