Anantnag admin holds awareness programme for migrant labourers
Anantnag: The district administration Anantnag on Friday conducted an awareness programme on problems of migrant labourers.
The event was organised by Assistant Labour Commissioner Anantnag in collaboration with the District Legal Services (DLSA) Anantnag at Dak Banglow, here.
Hundreds of migrant labourers, labourers working with contractors, hoteliers and at brick kilns participated in the programme.
Secretary DLSA Anantnag and Assistant Labour Commissioner Anantnag presided over the function.
On the occasion, the labourers were given awareness regarding different labour laws including interstate migrant workmen act 1979, contract labour act 1970, child labour and prohibition and regulation Act 1986 and bonded labour abolition act.
The Assistant Labour Commissioner and Secretary DLSA interacted with the participants and apprised them that ALC Anantnag and DLSA can be approached for redressing the grievances.
