Police solves theft case in Handwara, two held

Srinagar: Police in Handwara solved a theft case by arresting two accused persons involved in the crime, a police spokesman said Monday adding that stolen property has also been recovered from their possession.
He said that on Sunday police received a written complaint from Khurshid Ahmad Mir of Dolipora stating therein that his motorcycle bearing registration number PB02BL-9018 has been stolen by unknown thieves from his residential house.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Vilgam and investigation was initiated, the spokesman said.
He said that during the course of investigation, many suspects were called for questioning and after strenuous efforts investigating team zeroed in on two suspects identified as Adil Ahmad Sheik son of Abdul Gani Sheik resident of Punzwa and Nazir Ahmad Khan son of Bashir Ahmed Khan resident of Dingree Vilgam.
During questioning, officers learnt about their involvement in the commission of crime and on their disclosure the stolen motorcycle along with other motorcycle bearing registration number JK05C-9203 have been recovered from their possession. Both the accused persons stand arrested in the instant case and further investigation of the case is going on to ascertain their involvement in other cases, the spokesman added.
