The crescent of Ramadan does not come alone, it generally accompanies heaps of bliss and favors.
The Prophet Muhmmad (PBUH) said : when the month of Ramadan starts, the gates of the Heavens are opened and the gates of Hell are closed and the devils are chained. (Sahih-Al Bukhari Fasting book 30, hadith 9 Sahi Muslim the book of fasting).
“O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous” — Surat Al-Baqarah 2:183. With the above verse, the Holy Quran makes it clear that fasting was ordained compulsory on all Muslims and that they have to fast if they are to stay righteous.
(1) Increase in the amount of worship
In order to receive the blessings of Ramadan, we have to increase the amount of our worship. Try to recite the Nawafil in this blessed month that we are not able to recite on other months for example: after Maghrib, performing at least six (6) rak’ats with Sunnah. Come a few minutes before Isha prayers recite two or four rak’ats of Nafl. Make it a habit to get up a few minutes earlier for Sehri, and recite four rak’ats of Tahajjud. Similarly, the prayers of Ishraq and if sleep predominates during Ishraq, then recite a few rak’ats of Chasht.
After Zuhr, recite two rak’ats of Nafl with two Sunnahs and four rak’ats of Nafl before Asr. Because the characteristic of prayer is that it establishes man’s relationship with Allah as a result of which man attains nearness to Allah Almighty at all times, as in the hadith narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurayrah. It is: اَق اَرَبُ مَا يَكُونُ الْعَبْدُ مِنْ رَّبِ وَه وَهُوَ سَاجِدٌ The worshiper is closest to his Lord in prostration.
(2) Abundance of recitation of the Holy Quran
The second task is to pay special attention to the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, because the month of Ramadan has a special relevance and relationship with the Holy Qur’an. One of the stand out features of the month of Ramadan is that the Holy Quran was revealed to Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) during this time. This book of guidance is an invaluable treasure trove of information on how to live life as a good Muslim.
The divine book Holy Qur’an, is the comprehensive book of all the principles and branches of religion and the highest answer of the world of humanity. A speech book is a complete law. The Qur’an is a prescription for healing. Qur’an is an enlightened leader, a precise balance, a strong preacher, an informed and insightful leader, a dark light, a strong orator and it is a mercy to the worlds and a book that separates truth from falsehood. It is also a collection of historical, political, military, educational, jurisprudential, ethical, doctrinal, natural, hygienic, industrial, philosophical, literary, mathematical and other sciences and subjects.
History has shown that even if one tries to extinguish the light of the Qur’an, diminish its excesses, distort and change it or cast doubt on its characters, one will not succeed. The enemies of Islam and misguided people despite all their tricks, deceptions and efforts for hundreds of years, have not been able to extinguish the light of the Qur’an in the slightest way, and there will never be the slightest change in the word of Allah.
The Prophet (PBUH) himself used to recite the Qur’aan with Hazrat Jibraeel (may God have mercy on him) in Ramadaan. (Bukhari Sharif 2/3, Hadith 2). In the lives of all the religious leaders, the use of the Holy Qur’an is very much seen, but with the arrival of the month of Ramadan, the routine of recitation would increase exceptionally , so Hazrat Imam Abu Hanifa (may God have mercy on him) completed full recitation of the Holy Qur’an during the day, one in night and one Taraweeh, respectively. The recitation of the Holy Qur’an was a common sight during Ramadan.
Therefore, we also have to increase the level of recitation in this blessed month as compared to normal days. The common man should also recite at least three verses daily, so that at least three verses of the Holy Qur’an are recited throughout the month.
(3) Arrangement of reading and listening to the Holy Qur’an correctly in Taraweeh
In this blessed month, every believer must also consider that the Qur’an should be recited correctly and clearly in Taraweeh, and it should be avoided to recite in a hurry because reciting the Qur’an with random is against the greatness of Almighty, and the Holy Qur’an itself curses the reader.
Our situation is that Imaam Sahib in hurry can’t pronounce the words of the holy book correctly. Even Surah Al-Fatiha is finished in one breath, bowing, prostration and tashahhud are not being performed properly. Similarly taraweeh, prayers are offered only in forty or fifty minutes, there are long gossip in the gatherings for hours and none of Hafiz Sahib and listeners realize how much they have participated in insulting the Holy Quran and instead of receiving blessings in the blessed hours of Ramadan the Holy Quran Curse them in return.
Kindly avoid this situation and do not let the doors of blessings and forgiveness close on you in this blessed month, try to attain happiness in both worlds by arranging to read and listen to the Holy Quran in correct order and pronunciation.
This long stretch of Ramadan is carrying a lot of endowments alongside it, Allah is showering favors on us all, and that influences us to make a legitimate pledge to thank Him. This Ramadan isn’t composed for everybody who went through this year will go through this month one year from now as well. May we as a whole spend this Ramadan as profoundly as we can and request that Allah grant us this month over and over again.
Happy Ramadan to you and your family, may this Ramadan brings you loads of heart whelming satisfaction and delights. May you remain ever and ever happy in all your years to come?
