Srinagar: A police inspector was shot at by the unidentified gunmen in Dhobi Mohalla area of Batamaloo on Monday evening, officials said
They said that a police inspector identified as Sheikh Firdous, son of Sheikh Abdullah of Dhobi Mohalla was shot at by unidentified gunmen outside his home.
He was immediately rushed to SMHS hospital for treatment.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar, Rakesh Balwal said that the Inspector was shot at by unknown militants outside Masjid and has suffered a bullet injury in neck.
He is stable and undergoing treatment, SSP said.
Meanwhile, security forces later cordoned off the area and started a manhunt to nab the attackers.
