Bijnari Khrew residents rue lack of basic facilities : Demand intervention of higher ups

Pulwama: The residents of Bijnari Khrew area of Pampore hamlet in south Kashmir’s Pulwama are up against the local administration for failing to providing basic facilities in the area.
The people of the area said that they are facing shortage of drinking water since decades but no attention is being provided towards this grave issue.
“We are forced to drink contaminated water in absence of potable water and our repeated pleas to concerned officials are falling on deaf ears,” they said.
They said that there is no proper road connectivity to the area and as a result the people have to suffer during commuting.
They said that unscheduled power supply is prevalent in the area and this issue too has been left unattended for years now.
The locals added that during health emergencies the people witness lot of hassles while shifting patients towards hospitals as the condition of the rods in the area is pretty bad.
The locals said that they have brought these issues in notice of higher ups several times but to no avail.
They said that area has been neglected since last several decades.
The locals now urged upon the Lt Guv led administration and District Administration to look into the matter and provide basic facilities to the area so that they too can live their lives happily.
Meanwhile, an official said that a mega water supply scheme under JJM is coming up in area which will cover the whole area besides that issue of road, power and other problems will be redressed soon.
